Test Euros

 

Official Test Euros (issued by the F.N.M.T)

Spain has issued before 2002, a special set of euros, and organized a simulation to prepare the population, and test her reaction to the entrance of the new currency.

The Royal Spanish Mint (FNMT) has issued a set of eight coins that became knew by "Euros en Prueba" or "Euros de Churriana", one of the towns where the simulation was made.

In Churriana, a small neighbourhood of Málaga, from the 30th September to the 3rd October 1998, there were distributed among the population, and the local commerce a set of eight coins with the same facial values of the current euros. Those coins normally called "Euros en Prueba" or "Euros of Churriana" were only valid during the four days of the simulation, and only in transactions among the establishments in Churriana.

 

The simulations issued with this set of coins were also maded in another Spanish cities:

Sitges

Ciudad Rodrigo

Villanueva de la Serena (Badajoz)

Madrid

Zaragoza

 

Those coins were minted in Madrid and for curiosity they don't have any date engraved, in the reverse face they have the facial value and the phrase "EURO EN PRUEBA" that means "EURO IN TEST" in Spanish, and in the observe coin face the euro symbol surrounded by twelve stars and the mark of the mint of Madrid.

Labastida Euros

In Labastida have circulated between the 14th and 20th May of 2002 a set of test euros, with the collaboration of the Vasco government. Those are in metal, and like the official ones, have eight different values.

Além de Labastida, foram também realizadas simulações nas seguintes cidades, com o mesmo conjunto de moedas:

Alava

Amurrio, entre 19 e 31 de Outubro de 2000.

Valdegovia, no mês de Dezembro de 2000.

Como curiosidade, além do conjunto das 8 moedas circularam 3 notas com valores de 5, 10 e 20 Euros.

 

Terrasa Euros

Na cidade de Terrasa circularam nos dias 3,4 e 5 de Junho de 1999 uma série de euros de prova constituída por 8 moedas de metal. Estes Euros foram emitidos pelo banco "Caixa de Terrasa".

 

Elgoibar Euros

Na cidade de Elgoibar circularam entre 26 e 29 de Outubro de 2000, uma série de euros de prova constituída por 8 moedas de metal. Além da cidade de Elgoibar, esta série também circulou noutras cidades:

Guipuzkoa

Bergara de 26 a 16 de Junho

Irun e Hendaya (França)

 

Mungia Euros - Vizcaya 

Na localidade de Mungia circularam entre 10 e 23 de Maio de 1999 uma série de euros de prova constituída por 8 moedas em resina.

 

Vall de Uxo Euros (Castellon)

Em Fevereiro de 1999, foram emitidos uma série de 6 moedas e uma nota. Este conjunto foi emitido pelo instituto Honori Garcia, cujo motivo foi a XI semana cultural de Vall de Uxo. As moedas deste conjunto são de alumínio.

 

Logroño Euros

Esta série de 8 moedas em plástico e valores de 1 cêntimo a 2 EUR, foram emitidos pelo Instituto Tomás Mingot e circularam em Logroño (La Rioja).
